My Year and My Big News

I’ve been neglecting my website and I’m ashamed of it. After my site got hacked in July of 2015 I felt like giving up. I let my followers down and I let myself down. I was dealing with school and so focused on graduating college that I just let my site slide down under the radar. I’ve beaten myself up inside about this, but I won’t anymore. All I can do is pick myself up, “dust off”, and move on. I was so frustrated with what happened that I needed a break. So here’s what happened on my break from Blendhappy along with some big news…

1. I graduated college with a 4.0 and a Bachelors Degree in Health and Wellness

As long and grueling as it was, I was happy and very proud when it was over! I also have enough credits for a secondary degree in nutrition… but for now I’m happy with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Wellness with an emphasis in Nutrition. Also, graduated Summa Cum Laude. WOO-HOO!

2. I went to India

After college I went to Rishikesh, India to study Yoga from the source and become a Yoga Teacher. After being injured in the Army, I continued to work out and not “let myself go”. Working out not only helped keep my body in shape, but it also kept my mood up. The pain I experience from my injuries still exists, but with yoga, I was able to do more with my body than I imagined. Yoga is therapeutic for me, and although my injuries are permanent, I can at least manage my pain with keeping my body strong and fit. Now I hope to influence others to do the same as well.

3. After India, we went to Costa Rica!

When I returned from India, my boyfriend and I went to Costa Rica for my 31st birthday. I’m not one to usually celebrate my birthday, but we happened to find a good deal that happened to be on my birthday weekend. Plus, we needed a lovely trip together after 32 days of being apart.

4. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER… we got engaged!

To my surprise, and I mean the biggest surprise I was not expecting, Jason asked me to marry him on my birthday! It was the happiest moment of the year for us.

5. Wedding Planning and House buying

After we got engaged we heard from our good friends about a new development being built in Austin. We scoped out the houses and Jason fell in love with a particular model home. We started the paperwork in January of 2016 to build and buy our first home together.

6. Started my Second Business

Since Blendhappy was still in recovery mode, I decided I missed being an esthetician and I missed day-to-day interaction with people. I started my Peace Lily Wellness business where I give facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, waxing, lash and brow tint, private yoga lessons, and health coaching.

7. We went to Hawaii

Jason and I had planned a trip to Hawaii at the beginning of 2015 when we found round trip flights to Hawaii from Dallas for about $550 each. We were excited to start planning our trip to be there for what happened to be his birthday, March 4th. We even invited both our parents along.

After all the headache of wedding planning and house buying, we decided… screw it! Let’s get married on a beach in Hawaii. Ah simplicity and intimacy at its best. On March 6, 2016 I married my best friend and the love of my life. I love this man so much I could marry him again and again and again. I can’t express enough how lucky I feel, and how much I am in love him. What we have is true love and pure bliss.

9. We designed our new home

We went to the design center and picked out floors, carpet, backsplash tile, faucet finish, paint, and much more.

10. We are now waiting to move in

Now my husband and I (hehehe, I get to call that amazing man my husband now) are in limbo waiting to close on our home and waiting to move in!

And in case you’re wondering…

There are no babies yet, or any immediate plans for babies. I enjoy having Jason all to myself!

What’s next?

Once we move into the house I plan to do more videos of smoothies, food, and even some yoga. I am also working on a third business for tea! I will be making and selling herbal tea blends for health and healing. The year 2017 is going to be a great one!
